Dr. Corey Algood

Biography

Dr. Algood obtained his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with concentrations in Educational Leadership and Spanish from East Carolina University, and his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Troy State University. He also received his ESL/ TOESL certification from UCLA and obtained his Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Liberty University.

As a DoDEA general education teacher for more than 10 years, Dr. Algood has taught elementary through high school grades in Japan, Bahrain, and England. He also served as the Assistant Principal at West Point Elementary, at the West Point Military Academy, in NY and contributed to the achievement of their national Blue Ribbon Award.

While in his role as an instructional leader, Dr. Algood has served as the Pacific East Instructional Systems Specialist for Elementary Literacy and as a Pacific Regional Instructional Systems Specialist for ESOL and World Languages.

Dr. Algood has had the fortunate opportunity to work with all branches of military services in creating strong school and home partnerships in education. Some of these roles included club and committee membership in SAC, CSI, Student Support, Communication, Reading, STEM, and Military Child Support Groups.

In achieving goals for students' college and career readiness, Dr. Algood looks forward to working collaboratively with the Zama community, Arnn staff, and all school stakeholders to continue inspiring students' lifelong love for learning.
